The first episode of Garage Jamz streamed live on September 11th and hundreds logged on and enjoyed the polished presentation and talented vibes oozing from the screen! This first show featured the talents of Therese Lambert (Piano / Vocals), Gabriel Alleyne (Voice), Kris Fields (Voice), and Ray Vybz (Voice/Guitar).
Garage Jamz is important because it’s provides a platform for young talented musicians to gain exposure and express originality to acquire potential jobs and sustain the future of the local music industry. As a result, Garage Jamz is designed to build confidence in each performer and more careers in music and the arts.
Jazz Gittens

Garage Jamz was an idea Jazz Gittens, who is the son of musician Roger Gittens, had in secondary school while playing the Christ Church Foundation School Pop Band. He was 14 years old at the time was granted the opportunity to play with other musicians from various secondary schools around the island who were also very talented. However, they were all unknown in public eyes. That birthed Garage Jamz; a virtual platform showcasing young talented musicians to grow and build their careers. The project stuck with Jazz throughout all these years and he decided now was the time. The COIVID-19 grant from the NCF funding the project and the downtime from COVID allowed him to reconstruct and elaborate on the concept.
The garage concept came about because some of the most famous bands start out with a group of friends coming together at a house or garage jamming their favorite tunes. As time may have it, as these bands create a stronger chemistry they begin to write original songs and build their own image.
The arrangements for “Euphoria” were created by the band themselves. The other performers, they came with their own arrangements while a few consulted with Jazz for his thoughts. Renaissance Designs assisted beyond measure. The concepts for decor changed multiple times however, less is more and they designed the stage using materials and pieces found in the average garage. Creative Renovations & Finishes Inc provided the carpet which lifted the professional ambiance of the garage ambiance. In the visuals department Innovative Media really came through. Andre Alleyne is a visionary and very knowledgeable about his field so Jazz left it up to him because whatever he touches is class with some out-of-the-box ideas.
