For the first time this year we will also be introducing Legacy Awards Of Excellence under the patronage of The Division of Culture – Prime Minister’s Office. These will be awarded to specially selected creatives not only just for the longevity of their services to the arts, but also for their impact they have had over the public and community for years. And it pleases us to announce these awardees:

OVERVIEW
The Gine On People’s Choice Awards celebrates Bajans who are making a significant impact on arts and culture throughout the year. The public and knowledgeable practitioners submit nominees and vote for the Barbadian talent and their work which influences and inspires them the most. The nominees are showcased via online exhibitions and live events. It then climaxes with an exciting Celebration Ceremony and Trade Show worthy of the talent produced in this country.
The categories cover various aspects of Bajan art and culture and tens of thousands of online voters across the world eagerly participate.
The Gine On Awards is dedicated to working to change the narrative that Barbadians “don’t support each other” or that “our talent is mediocre”. Spanning various art disciplines, we showcase the Bajan top-notch talent in a polished professional way to the rest of the island, region, and the world!
Along with educating the world about some of the top talent here in Barbados, the Gine On Awards also brings a community of influencers and creatives together. It organically helps to catalyse working relationships and raises the perception of these artists in the community. It helps support and enhance the online identity of various creatives and show opportunities to generate revenue digitally.

The Gine On People’s Choice Awards had its first official season in 2020. Over the first four years, the GO Awards have faced the challenges of the pandemic but still have had 4 consecutive successful seasons with hundreds of nominees and over two hundred thousand individual votes from Barbados and abroad over the years.
