I AM…because my ancestors were is a spoken word night celebrating African heritage, history and awareness. Celebrat(ing) diasporic history culture and identity through the voices of young Barbadian poets exploring themes such as oppression, black womanhood, identity and ancestry.
Featuring the Spoken word talents of Carmen, Teryck Haynes, Irijah Tha Don, LaShawna Griffith, Stoned With Cupid, and Jovana GiibZ of Fizix. The virtual event is hosted by Rhyminister.
