Barbadian visual artists and photographers are invited to submit images of up 5 works for consideration for inclusion in a commemorative catalogue to mark our nation’s 55th anniversary of Independence. As Barbados moves towards the status of a constitutional Republic, this catalogues presents an opportunity for you to share your understanding of freedom, Independence, self-determination and our rich legacy based on our history; our present realities and potential futures.
Entries are not restricted by any genre or visual medium.
Each entry should be accompanied by a brief statement of no more than 3 lines explaining how the image relates to the broad theme. A maximum of 5 high resolution images may be submitted per artist.
The NCF will select 55 images for publication in the catalogue which will be hosted on the NCF website for one year.
Each participating artist will be paid a fee of Bds $200.00 for the use of their work in this online publication for one year. The NCF will retain a PDF copy of the catalogue for educational purposes beyond the period that the catalogue is accessible online.
Works should be submitted via email to Coordinator, Ms. Jeena Chatrani, jeena@artbyjeena.com and copied to Mrs. Andrea Wells andrea-wells@ncf.bb on or before October 18th, 2021. Emails should be titled NCF DIGITAL CATALOGUE.
Selected artists will be informed of their success by October 23rd. The catalogue will go live in November 2021.
