Album/EP Of The Year
The best collection of recorded and released music album or EP collection of music by a Barbadian artist or group during the year 2023.
Bashment Song Of The Year
The most impactful song in the Bashment genre that causes the crowd let their bashy side come out in any party.
Book Of The Year
Recognises a published book and author which made a significant contribution into the cultural landscape of Barbados through immersive writing and entertaining storytelling. The generes could be childrens, fiction graphic novel, comic or non fiction.
Dancehall Song Of The Year
This award goes to the producer, writer and perfromer who best exemplifies the riddim, lyrical diversity and vibe of the vibrant dancehall culture that moves its people through rhythm and rhyme.
Film Of The Year
A cinematic award given to a feature length film produced written or directed by a Barbadian. Choose the best level of storytelling via film.
Gospel Song Of The Year
The producer, writer and performer who comprises of dominant vocals and strong use of harmony with inspiring or Christian lyrics.
Hip Hop/Pop Song Of The Year
The producer, writer and performer which presents their song with the best rhythmic beat and/or rapping vocals. The song should be able to tell a story lyrically or through an irresistible vibe appealing to a wide audience.
Kaiso Song Of The Year
The producer, writer and performer of the kaiso or calypso song with the most social commentary impact communicating social issues in educational and entertaining ways.
Music Video Of The Year
The director, producer and videographer for the most creative visualization that best accompanies a performance piece. It should be the most dramatic interpretation that entertains the masses and best promotes the song or performance piece.
R&B Song Of The Year
The producer, writer and performer of the Rhythm and Blues song that made the public groove all year with the most with a great blend of soul and jazz music.
Reggae Song Of The Year
The producer, writer and performer of an original song produced in the Reggae music genre in 2023 which had the biggest impact and rated the highest across the community.
Soca Song Of The Year
The producer, writer and performer of an original song in the Sweet Soca or Power Soca genres produced in 2023 that the biggest impact on the public during the Crop Over season or across neighbouring carnivals across the region and world.
Theatre Production Of The Year
The public’s favourite work of a staged play, musical, one person show, ensemble etc which is produced in 2023. It should fully exemplifies the areas of script, process, product, and has left audiences influenced and inspired.
Web Series / Short Film Of The Year
The most enjoyable TV Series or web series, including Facebook, YouTube, Website, Streaming platform and Instagram, which the public enjoyed this episodic series and its entertaining storyline. This goes to the director, writer and producer of the series.
